Sharkeyhill Pre-School caters for children aged between 2 years 6 months and 5 years 6 months.
Children aged 3 years or more can avail of the government Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme which provides free government-subsidised pre-school places for children over 3 years of age. Registration on this scheme takes place in September, January and April. Children are eligible for the scheme in the enrolment month following their third birthday. To check when your child will be eligible for the ECCE scheme enter their birthday in the ECCE Calculator below:
Children can be registered on the ECCE scheme to attend pre-school for 2,3,4 or 5 days a week. However, parents should be aware that should they wish to increase the number of days their child attends pre-school, it cannot be guaranteed that additional days will be available. The terms of the ECCE scheme also specifies that funding may cease if a child is absent for more than 20 consecutive days.
Children under 3 years of age may also be eligible for subsidised pre-school fees. Check the table below for details of the different qualifying bands and the associated fees.
